FUNDUS CAMERA

Have you ever taken a picture of friends or family and seen a “red eye”? This is the reflection of the fundus.

Fundus photography images the retina, which is the neurosensory tissue in our eyes. The retinq has a network of fine blood vessels which is why cardiovascular conditions can often be seen in the eyes.

THE BENEFITS OF FUNDUS PHOTOGRAPHY

Fundus photography is used to inspect and record anomalies in the health of the eye and is a good way of monitoring their progression.

Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and other eye conditions can be easily identified and recorded using fundus photography.

At Hilliers, we recommend fundus photography to all our patients as a way of recording the status of the fundus and in doing so, providing baseline data for each visit.
